Spillers Golden Saddle Award: Sun 18th October 1998 - Won by Francis Connors in 1977, and Diane Beecher in 1995. Geoff achieved seven straight A's in his morning's work and only incurred one B during the whole day which was quite outstanding. He used his scholarship money to train with Rodriguez Pessoa in Brussels, Belgium.
Competed in horses and ponies at national level and was placed in the young horse classes at the RDS.
Commissioned in 2001. Joined the cadet school in 1999 to begin his training as an army officer. After 21 months cadet training began riding in the equitation school in July 2001. The following year he began his eventing career and spent the next two years competing at 1* and 2* Level nationally and internationally.
Kilmessan was first mount for eventing new comer Lt. Geoff Curran who came 3rd at Ballindenisk, Co. Cork in Novice C section.
Member of silver medal winning team 2002 at the World Military Games in Chile.

I enjoy giving back something to enthusiastic amateurs and future eventers and am currently involved in giving instruction at Ballinaclough Equestrian Centre, Waterford.
